Rosie Marie Connor, MPH – Secretary

Rosie Marie Connor, MPH, has remained firm in her lifelong commitment to further the efforts of the non-profit sector since the beginning her career. Growing up in the outskirts of East St. Louis, Illinois, she gained an early appreciation for the key role charitable organizations play in improving the lives of the poor and underserved. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Communications from the University of Illinois, Connor moved to Southern California where she has spent her professional career with numerous health-related, non-profit organizations, including her current position as the Executive Director of the Medical Sciences Institute for Charles Drew University. She earned her MPH from the University of Southern California, and will begin a doctorate in 2009. Her research interests include chronic disease prevention and management in poor and underserved communities nationally and globally.
